I had a delightful time on Tuesday at Main Street Books in Hattiesburg. I read Wolfsnail A Backyard Predator for the children (and adults). Afterward, I talked about how I came to write the book and a little about the photography. The children (and adults) had interesting questions. I had brought some coloring pages and some of the children sat down after the reading to color and enjoy the snacks provided by store owner Diane Shepherd.

My son reconfigured my laptop to run an open source operating system. I am posting a photo my mother took of my father during my sons’ recent visit with them. I used an open source photo processing program to modify the photograph. Dad is using a special tool called an atlatl to give a spear a more forceful send-off. The boys used to be (and actually still are, I suppose) all about sticks and spears.
